Microdermabrasion
About this treatment
Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals to loosen debris then vacuum it away, this removes the build up of dead skin cells and other debris from the skin surface that causes it to look dull and rough. This results in softer, smoother skin as younger skin cells that lie underneath come to the surface, also leading to collagen production and plumper skin.
Treatment benefits
Exfoliation: It effectively removes dead skin cells, promoting a smoother and more even skin texture.
Skin Renewal: By stimulating the production of new skin cells, microdermabrasion can lead to a fresher and more youthful appearance.
Collagen Production: The procedure can encourage collagen production, which can help plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Acne and Scarring: It can help unclog pores, reducing the occurrence of acne breakouts, and improve the appearance of mild acne scars.
Pore Size Reduction: It can make pores appear smaller by removing debris and excess oil.
The procedure

Frequently asked questions
Depending on your skin concerns and their severity, the number of treatments can vary. At Sandon, we recommend a series of 3-6 treatments at 2 weekly intervals, followed by maintenance appointments every few months. You really can’t have too many microdermabrasion's, and some people like it so much they enjoy having a monthly refresher.
Microdermabrasion generally causes no discomfort and no anaesthetic cream is required.
A build-up of dead skin can block the pores, and is one of the contributing factors to acne and spots. Exfoliation can help to un-block the pores thereby helping to treat and prevent acne and skin congestion.
Regular exfoliation can also help to stimulate the skin into making more collagen.
